Prof. Pranati Panda is a distinguished professor of international repute and a senior professor of National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi. Prof.Panda served as head of the Department of School and Non-Formal Education, School Standards and Evaluation Unit and Comparative Education and International Cooperation of NIEPA. Her tenancy in premier national organizations i.e., National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCED), National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) and National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) spanning over three and half decades have outstanding contributions towards national level policy formulations with field level outlook. Prof. Panda is the founder architecture for the development and institutionalization of National Programme on School Standards and Evaluation (Shaala Siddhi) for school quality assurance and accreditation system in India.
Prof. Panda is an internationally acclaimed educator having specialization in governance, regulation, standards setting, quality assurance and accreditation in education sector. Her academic contributions in the area of teacher management and leadership, teacher professional standards and development are paving transformative pathways of teacher education in India. Prof. Panda is the editorial members of international, national journals, reviewers for Sage Journals and international reviewers for Comparative and International Education. Her significant publications include chapter in Oxford Research Encyclopedia of Education (Oxford) on ‘International Perspectives on Standards and Benchmarking in Teacher Education’ and articles in national and international journals. Her book entitled, ‘The Landscape of Teacher Education in India’ by Routledge is a major contribution to reshape teacher education in India.
Prof. Panda is the member of several official committees on school and teacher education constituted by the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, National Council for Teacher Education, Central and State Universities and in different national institutions. Prof. Panda also severed as lead members of Joint Review Missions of Teacher and School Education, Govt. of India to review the Centrally Sponsored Schemes, plan and strategic implementations. She is the Chairman of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Services Sector Department (Education).
Prof. Panda served as the focal point and editor for the Asian Network of Training and Research Institutions (ANTRIEP) for establishing international collaboration and networking with Asian countries. She has also served as the Course Director for International Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration under the bilateral relationship with 180 countries. Prof. Panda is consulted by the UNESCO, UNICEF, World Bank, British Council, United Nation High Commissioner for Human Rights (Geneva), Asia Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding (UNESCO), GTZ (Germany), HURIGHTS (Japan) etc.
