Dr. Paripally Shankar is currently working as Associate Professor, Department of Educational Policy,NIEPA, New Delhi.Served at Osmania University, Hyderabad from Jan 2014-Nov 2025 as Assistant Professor in the Department of Education. Holds the position as Member, NCTE-SRC, New Delhi and Member ICSSR-SRC, Hyderabad. Held the positions as Chairperson, Board of Studies in Education for four universities of Telangana namely Telangana University, Nizamabad; Satavahana University, Karimnagar,Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda and Palamuru University, Mahaboobnagar. And member in board of studies of Central University of Karnataka (CUK), Gulbarga; Tamil Nadu Teacher Education University, (TNTEU), Chennai and Centra University of Kashmir, Kashmir. Having an aggregate 31 years of teaching and research experience. Having teaching experience across the all level of education. Taught 7 years in Secondary schools and 13 years as teacher educator at Govt DIET, Warangal.

Appointed by Government of Telangana as Co-convenor, TSEDCET for consecutive four sessions. During this tenure instrumental in bringing changes in the B.Ed Entrance examination pattern and facilitated flexible entry of different disciplines into teacher education. Involved in policy making and influenced the policy decisions through his research and academic activism as teacher. Contributed services for developing BALASAHITYAM (Children Literature), CCE, Academic Standards, Tribal Textbooks and reforms in assessment procedures in the SSC board examinations and improving of Mid-day meal in the state of Telangana. Taken initiative as the of Special officer for Model High School, Osmania University to introduce robotics for school students. Started career as School Assistant (Physical Science) and served as Science Teacher at school level. Served as District Science Officer and Academic Monitoring Officer in DPEP and SSA-Warangal. Served as Additional Project Co-Ordinator (APC) Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Warangal. Trained by ISRO Ahmedabad in developing audio-video material and organizing teleconferences. Invited as expert for several Teleconferences in the state and at national level programs of DEP- IGNOU-SSA. Organized national level Training programmes in Collaboration with DEP- IGNOU-SSA. Basically, a teacher trainer providing constructive training to teachers and teacher educators. Organized several training programmes, workshops, seminars and conferences for the teachers and teacher educators. Instrumental in developing more than 20 teacher training modules to give trainings to the teachers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. As the draft committee member of Andhra Pradesh State Curriculum Framework - APSCF- 2011 contributed for Draft Curriculum Frame work and for 14 position papers for curriculum development. Involved in the development of Text books as the Co- ordinator and author for the Physical Science textbooks for class VI to X. Brought reforms in curriculum as the Member in Curriculum reforms at M.Ed., B.Ed and D.El.Ed level. Contributed for academic activities as SRG State Resource Group member for SCERT, SIET, RMSA, SSA and Samagra Siksha.. Undertaken 10 research projects and submitted research reports and policy briefs to the state government. Completed one major research Project sponsored by ICSSR. The same is considered for Publication as book by ICSSR. Published 25 research articles in referred and UGC care journals. Contributed for chapters in the books. Author and editor for various books covering science subject at school education and subjects at B.Ed and D.Ed level. Working with Telugu academy in publishing reference books in regional medium Telugu. Contributes for editorial articles in daily newspapers.

Awards: Felicitated with a citation by the Government of Andhra Pradesh on 04- 03-2013 for the services as the Coordinator and Author of the class 6th to 9th text books development. Got 4 times District Awards from the District Collectors for popularization of science as District Science Officer and for best academic initiatives in the district as A.M.O in the years January 1999, August 2005, January, 2007and August 2007. Received Vice Chancellor award for his best research initiatives from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
