Dr. Shivakumar Kandekar is a dedicated educator and researcher committed to mission and vision of the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA) to enhancing the quality of Higher and Professional Education in India. He has Ph.D. in Education awarded from Osmania university and master degree in Life science and he also done PG Diploma Guidance and Counselling. He has teaching experience in teacher education institutions. He served as Assistant professor in National centre for school leadership (NCSL) NIEPA, New Delhi and contributed research project on Good Governance in school education in India. He worked to several research projects are school leadership project in Tata institute of social science (TISS), Secondary school observation study collaboration with University of Oxford, UK in association with CESS and Foundational Literacy &Numeracy (FLN) Survey. His collaboration with National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD&PR) on training programmes to promote rural education development.
He served as editor of book series titled "Futuristic Trends in Social Science and he published research papers in reputable journals and presented at both National & International conference and Mid may meal demonstration in T-SAT Educational Channel, live streaming sessions on school leadership development in PM e-vidya channel. He played a key role in various initiatives, including Swachh Bharath Swachh Vidyalaya campaign rural and tribal areas to promoting handwash techniques (WHO) to ensure students' well-being. He has earned certifications in Health and Hygiene courses sponsored by UNICEF, WHO and Sustainable Development Goals 2030, School Leadership capacities and management skills, the science of well-being (yale university), Mindfulness in Integrative Healthcare (University of Minnesota). His commitment to promoting sustainable development in education has earned him a token of appreciation under the National Service Scheme (NSS).
